‘Tis the season to get out and enjoy winter activities in Charlotte NC. Charlotte offers exciting events all year around and winter is no exception. Granted, the holidays can be a bit hectic but you should still try to make some time to stay active (and have a little fun while you’re doing it).

Here are some fun and fitful Winter activities in and around Charlotte NC this season.

Winter Wonderland

What:  Relish the magic of the season at SouthPark’s own Winter Wonderland, Charlotte’s favorite open-air ice-skating rink and ultimate Instagram photo op bucket-list destination. Winter Wonderland’s ice skating rink is now 40% bigger and features fun for the entire family including a daily afternoon snowfall, holiday lights and decor, as well as attractions such as Santa’s Pub. Ri Ra Inaugural Santa Run

What: Ri Ra is proud to sponsor Charlotte’s 1st and only ALL Santa race. Take a run, in the spirit of Christmas, dressed as St. Nick himself! That’s right, every runner will be provided a Santa suit to race with. In addition to holiday cookies, Santas will be treated with a pint after the race which is included with each registration. All profits from the race will benefit the local Charlotte charity, The Patriot Military Family Foundation. The Patriot Military Family Foundation’s mission is to honor our veterans for their service and commitment to our freedoms and to serve them and their families. They provide services to veterans and their families through a variety of programs including a Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) program and Homes for Veterans.

Santa Hustle® North Carolina 5k & Half Marathon

The Whole Enchilada

What: Over 40 miles of trail are calling your name…  The Whole Enchilada pins mountain bikers against the entirety of the USNWC trail system, taking on Todas las Millas (all the miles) in this single-lap format race. New trails are being added regularly by the USNWC, allowing riders to crush through more and more miles each year. Riders looking to shred their way through a shorter distance can take on roughly half the trail system in The Half Enchilada.

2019 Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k

What: Join the movement that’s taken over the racing world. Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k is coming to Charlotte on January 19, 2019! Start and finish amongst the biggest chocolate aficionados in Charlotte. Train, race, and celebrate with us all the way to the finish line. All kinds of chocolate treats will be served along the course and after the race. All participants will get a commemorative medal and jacket. Proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish.
