Charlotte is a vibrant city, offering tons of great festivities that include fitness while making it fun at the same time. If you don’t feel like your in good enough shape to participate in some of these events or that you’re not quite ready for those summer fashions, don’t worry! These are just a few of the great, active summer events in and around Charlotte to keep you moving and having fun this summer.

Taste of Charlotte

What: 3-day festival featuring samples from 100+ local restaurants, 4 stages’ worth of live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, street performances, kids’ activities and more. Get your run on with the Race to the Taste 5K on Saturday.

Summer Yoga Fest

What: NC Yoga Bar and OrthoCarolina are pairing up for a morning of outdoor yoga with a live DJ, local vendors and a raffle for prizes.

When: Saturday, June 9 at 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Classes at at 9 and 11 a.m.

Sol Fest

What: This is one of the best summer events which is Far more than a traditional beer festival… offering numerous water races, trail racing, yoga, live music, and more. A wide selection of regional and national craft breweries will be featured from 1:00pm to 6:00pm, providing tastes of their signature brews. For those looking to get wet, head down to the river for the Catawba River Races where competitors will take on open water swimming, kayaking, or SUP, or Blazing Paddles, the USNWC’s head-to-head boatercross race through the competition channel. On top of that, enjoy the live music at the River Jam Stage lasting through the evening.

Yoga On Deck

What: Community outdoor yoga class and social. Each week one of our featured yoga performers will lead the class, and showcase one of our signature formats. We invite the Charlotte community to come out and enjoy our amazing outdoor venue, mingle and flow. Participants will receive a drink ticket ($5 value) that they can redeem for their first drink at the Outdoor Bar. The event is free but please RSVP at the link below to reserve your spot.

USNWC Fourth of July Celebration

What: U.S. National Whitewater Center’s Fourth of July Celebration is a two-day festival that features outdoor adventure, yoga, live music and spectacular fireworks displays. Musical performances take place each evening, followed by fireworks.

When: July 3- 4

American 4-Miler

What: Kick off Independence Day with a 4-mile race and 1-mile kids’ run. No race-day registration.

When: July 4th – 7:30 a.m.; kids’ run at 8:30 a.m.

4th of July Celebration at Birkdale Village

What: Enjoy bike decorating, face painting, bounce houses, a bike rodeo and fire department water fight.

Volleyball 101

What: A 1 hour interactive event designed to teach the basics of the game of volleyball.

Not only will you learn the mechanics of the skill of volleyball, you will also learn the positioning for both offensive and defensive play. You will learn the basics of the game. How to pass, set, attack and serve in a 4v4 or doubles setting!

BYCF Swim Wods

What: Swim workouts are offered in three sessions; you can sign up for one or all! The Monday sessions are limited to just six people because we have to share the pool with open swimmers. These workouts will likely be more partner-based and involve a lot of mixing swimming with CrossFit movements. On Saturdays we have the ENTIRE POOL to ourselves, expect the unexpected!
